The petting zoo features many animals including lemurs, zebras, walaroos, emu’s, Llamas and ostrich’s. There is also chickens, pigs, sheep, swans, goats, pheasants and more scattered throughout the property just waiting to have their photos taken.
The Hillcrest is a gem: a wonderful building built in an era when labour was cheap, the best materials imported, and pride of craftsmanship ruled. Lots of original furnishings and family items are still in the building, and the balance of furnishings and items on display all have a local connection, usually noted.
The Swinging bridge measures 184 metres and regains the title of the longest swinging pedestrian bridge in Canada!
The Virden Pioneer Home Museum is home to one of the most extensive museum collections in rural Manitoba; it houses more than 11, 000 artifacts! In addition to household displays, the museum houses a post office, general store, school house, medical, local art, and military displays.
